I was informed this past weekend by my husband and mother that her name should actually be written Mimi instead of Meme. What do you think? It really doesn't matter to me but to make my family happy my mother is now known as Mimi.
Mimi arrived last Friday evening and we have been going nonstop. We spent Friday evening at home, Saturday in La Jolla getting Ashby's first official haircut, and we left Mother's Day for Palm Springs. We just got back into town last night and I have several videos to share with everyone. As always, some are short, a little shaky, but they are enjoyable.
Ashby's first haircut at LittleLocks in La Jolla was a great experience. The salon has cool chairs for the children to sit in and if you want you can blow bubbles while your child's personal hair dresser does his/her magic. Also, be aware that you will probably buy a toy before exiting.
Ashby is walking well but she does not like to hold hands. I have been trying to get Ashby to understand that sometimes you have to hold an adults hand while walking. Well, Mimi is working on it and Ashby seems to understand.
A big thank you to Monique and Uncle Paul for making our weekend in Palm Springs a fantastic one. Through Monique's timeshare she was able to reserve a mini-house for our visit to Palm Springs. The resort was beautiful and the unit was huge. We had everything we needed at our fingertips.
Ashby has been taking swimming classes but she has not yet experienced playing in an outdoor swimming pool. The resort in Palm Springs had a baby pool which Ashby enjoyed but she had the most fun with her daddy in the grownup pool. At first, she was a little confused because we had her in a blow up turtle and other kids were playing around her with other cool toys. Within moments, she began having fun. And of course her dad, the love of her life, made playing in the pool the best thing ever. Her daddy would splash water, hide in the water, and bounce in the water. Her daddy is a special cool daddy!
Mimi and I went out and bought Ashby her first "Grow With Me Kitchen." Ashby loves it and I like the fact that it grows with her age.
My mom was able to meet a few of my San Diego friends which was nice because I am always mentioning people in our daily conversations. It was nice for her to put a face with a name and she enjoyed meeting everyone. Ashby's buddy, Xander, stopped over one evening for some kitchen play. I was able to capture 45 seconds of two toddlers having a ball.
