Well, we did it - we bought Ashby her first Big Girl Bed and she loves it. We all visited Ikea together and she picked out the reversible bed. As you will see, we have the mattress on the bottom level. However, when she is a little older we will flip the bed over and add two railings in the back and at that time she can climb the ladder to the top level. What is so cool about the bed is that the lower bottom can be used for another mattress (bunk bed) or for additional space such as a table/chairs. She slept great last night but right now she is having problems going to sleep and it is suppose to be NAP TIME!!!! I hope this transition goes well!
